Advisory was not an acceptable option during my tenure at EDJ...1997-2006. It wasn't until Weddle took over that the firm saw the light...

Remember Bachman...and then Hill...Weddle was a welcomed change at the top back in the day...

I had no idea. Almost my entire book is Advisory Solutions. I sell it as a hands off option so the client doesn't have to worry. I can't imagine having to call every client each month to sell something to make a commission.

It underperforms in a massive way. You COULD do guided fund or flex and call the client with no worries of commissions. I’ve never opened an advisory account since I started. Sure it’s hands off but it also goes down more than the market and makes way less on the upside.

I heard I could build a custom advisory portfolio, but why do that for the client to pay 1.44 plus what investments are in it?

Why not just use index funds in advisory like freebird does?

I’m hoping for a how-to from freebird soon. 😂

I’ll try and remember my old Jones stuff and let’s talk after the first LOL

But I didnt use advisory either

Daria,

Some time ago, Helado put together an index portfolio for Spiff to use @ Jones.

You might try to search it in the tool.

This was before Freebirds time.

Look @ Missionshooter trying to be helpful to a female on this forum!!  Largely because Daria hasn't had the attitude and victim mentality like Erica Jones has.

Just before I left I had a veteran tell me that advisory solutions was the most under utilized tool Jones has.  It is the best option for tax efficiency and performance. I mean if the veterans say it it must be true. LOL

Yes, back before Advisory the only options at EDJ were all commissioned base with the exception of the MAP program which very few used due to the high minimum that was required. I think Advisory came out in 2008. Jim Weddle does deserve some credit for at least moving EDJ forward and out of the cave man ages. Email and Advisory both came out under his watch.
