Hey guys.  Glad to be a part of the forum.  I'm about 5.5 years in at a wirehouse.  Doing some due diligence to determine if I'm in the best place for my clients and myself.  Seems like there's a lot of good experience here, hope I can learn some things.  Thanks.

Damn Craft you must be a rainmaker to make it 5.5 years at a wire.

Are you with a "team"?

"Rainmaker" would be generous, but I've done ok.  Took me a bit to get the wheels turning, but I'm probably top 25% for my peer group now.  I have a senior partner and two assistants.  Teamed up early in my career, may or may not have made it without teaming, but it's been beneficial to both of us.

If I were to do anything, it would be independent, possibly RIA.  90% of my production is annuitized already.

Are you thinking of joining an RIA or starting your own?

I guess I'm not opposed to joining an existing, although I haven't really considered that to this point.  There is another younger guy in my office, similar production, a few years ahead of me, who I have talked to about doing an RIA thing. My office, while technically, in a major metro area, is about 45 minutes outside of the city, in a county of about 375k.  I can honestly say I've never run into an RIA while prospecting, always Jones, another wire, Amerprise, LPL, or RayJay.

Thats because their clients are so secure and sticky that they won’t even speak to you
