Welcome!

I've edited out your first name, I wouldn't use it.  Good luck on starting out.  Feel free to use the Rookiegarten if you want or the other subforums as you need.

Keeping finding new prospects. It takes time to convert people. Don't expect it to happen as fast as you would like.

It varies man.  Depends on you, depends on them, depends on how they came to you.  A cold call prospect is generally going to take longer than a referral, etc.

I think the average cold prospect takes something like 9 touches on average before becoming a client.

Just keep hustling.  I know it sounds cliche, but just talk to as many people as you can everyday.  You will find some "low hanging fruit" (i.e.  people that move NOW), and keep adding the rest to your CRM and keep in touch, and drip on them.  That keeps your pipeline full next year, and the year after, etc.

You MUST disclose ALL outside accounts to Compliance.

I'm not sure, but you could risk termination by not doing so. Why would you take that risk?

Have you disclosed on your Robinhood account that you work in the industry?

You're playing with fire by not disclosing it to Jones. Getting fired over something really silly would be really....stupid.

My guess is that it isn't his account. He is probably setting up robinhood accounts for clients then trading in them. Not only is this a huge violation and will get him fired immediately, but he's also opened up to law suits once he inevitably loses all his "clients" money.

Plain and simple - if you have an outside account that is not disclosed it is a FINRA violation, you can get fined, and EJ will can your ass.

As a newb, it is very unlikely to get an exception for that account even when you disclose it and will have to shut it down immediately.

Delbs,

It sounds like the green mothership hired another future top producer here.

The "Rules are meant to be broken" attitude will get him canned eventually.

My friend from EDJ just told me they decided to cancel facd program . Basically it was the training FAs program right out of college like this kid with no work ethic, job experience, connections, etc.

They are probably tired of paying these lazy ass kids a salary to have them mope around and decrease profits for partners.

Yes they did...The old PASS program was actually very well structured.  The new FACD evolved into a weak and shitty program.  The back office forced mediocre talent into the regions and they were entitled turds.  Good riddance.......now if we can have a real apprentice program that will be good....

as to this newbie......ive got nothing.  How to get to Level 1....gather assets....lots of them.

So you think you can be successful but just taking the crappy clients other people don't want?  Do what should have been doing all along - go find clients of your own.

I was going to say remedial English. Unfortunately for the OP the way people conduct themselves here is some reflection of the way they conduct themselves in real life.

Here...let me make it easy for you...

Talk to lots of people.

This is really a simple process.  You should have some prospects in your system. Call them.  You should have a LinkedIn profile.  Use it to find people in your area to talk to and talk to them.  Zoom, phone, lunch - doesn’t matter.  Just figure out how to say something, pretty much anything to them.

Tell them you work with money and want to work with theirs.  See what happens.  Do this 125 times a week until you reach level 10.

And forget this forum exists until Level 3.  Then you can come back and get some good info.

Oh, and you can ask all the vets for assets if you want, but you get paid basically nothing on them and they’ll just create more headaches for you that you don’t need.  For now, just build it yourself.
